Kathy Kinzer-Downs
Lead Pastor
Kathy Kinzer-Downs was born in San Diego California, and raised in Calvert County, MD. With close to 15 years of ministry experience between the East coast and Midwest, most recently Kathy has entered into a new phase of calling and ministry- church planting. Kathy and her family relocated back to Calvert County in 2019 to plant Freedom Church. Freedom Church is a Place Where People Encounter God. The ministry seeks to help lead others into freedom of the whole person- mind, body, and soul. Freedom Church is called to reach this young adult generation and their children. "We are going after the Millennial generation and their kids, working to make faith and God relevant to their life now. We want to see a now and next generation saved, serving God, and living for God", says Kathy. Kathy is happily married to Lamont Downs, her loving and supportive husband, and is the proud Mom of two boys, Marcus Lamont Edward (6), and Xavier Carlise (3).

Cheryl Mayes
Pastor
Cheryl Mayes is deeply committed to the work of the Lord and she has a servant’s heart. She is a humble woman of God who is called to share the teachings of the Bible and knowledge about the purpose, plan, and movement of the Holy Spirit.
After years of service in the Methodist church, where she raised her children, God called her to start her own church. During these years of pastoral ministry, in addition to her regular duties, one of the most exciting things she did with the congregation was to travel nationally and internationally. The most memorable journey was to Israel, where she conducted communion at the actual site of Holy Communion and baptized members in the Jordan River.
Following the directive from God, after many years of ministerial service, she left Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and settled in Huntingtown, Maryland. There she began to study Hebrew seeking a deeper understanding of the Bible. For the past 18 months, she has been involved in the planting and growth of Freedom Church, and is currently serving as the Pastor’s Pastor, sharing her experience and knowledge with Pastor Kathy Kinzer-Downs.

Marc de Jeu
Pastor, Freedom Online
Marc was born in Columbus, Ohio & raised in the Cleveland area. Since 2005 he's served churches in Indianapolis (IN), Franklin (PA), and Beaver County (PA). Having planted a church in 2010 (with Kathy's help!), Marc is excited to see people experience Christ's new life through Freedom Covenant Church. Marc is married to his best friend Emily (since 2004), and they live in Beaver Falls (PA) with their three children: Joseph (13), Will (11), and Katie (9).
